MAKE BELIEVING
My Story
I like to consider myself somewhat of a nerd. I enjoy watching cartoons and TV shows and then obsessing over them, one cartoon at a time. I love looking into characters that speak to me and analyzing what makes them so relatable and how it reflects being human.
In high school for a personal project, I made a podcast that reviewed media I felt drawn to which at the time was and still is to some extent, cartoons and Pixar movies. I started the episodes by reviewing them based on the audience's general response. I would also talk about its creators and what went into the production.
But the main meat of what I put into that podcast was analyzing aspects of the media like its plot and themes and characters. Those things really get my mind going when I watch a cartoon. I’ve found comfort in getting lost in the plot and fixating on a character’s growth and development.

There’s something even truer than real life in writing. I think it’s interesting the way we get so passionate about the made-believe stories we create and consume, something pretend and fake. But the emotion it leaves us with is very real.
